To Dr. Pierre Zundel (Laurentian University President),
I am writing on behalf of Tenured, Tenure-Track, and Teaching Faculty Members at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology to let you know we stand in solidarity with our colleagues at Laurentian University.
When Faculty Members go on strike, it is not simply one Faculty Association but tens of thousands of members from across the country who stand in solidarity and support.
As such, it gives me great pleasure to let you know that the UOIT Faculty Association has donated an initial $500 to Laurentian University Faculty Association’s (LUFA) strike efforts.
Should this job action continue, this small donation is the first of many. We hope that, as the President of the University, you will strongly consider agreeing to a fair deal with LUFA that enhances quality education and collegial governance at Laurentian University.
